The adventure begins with Firecracker,a goblin who's suspicious of the Venture Company's latest dealings. He informs you that the corrupt industrialists recently hired Gerenzo Silbillave,a brilliant but morally bankrupt gnome. His arrival has thrown Ziz Fizziks,the local goblin engineer,into panic.
