Grinding for camos in Black Ops 7 can feel amazing one minute and totally miserable the next, and nothing exposes that faster than the objective kill challenge, even if you jump into a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby to test things out. On paper it sounds easy: play the objective, get kills, job done. Then you realise half your kills are not counting and you start questioning the game, your aim, and everything in between.
What Actually Counts As An Objective Kill
The game never really spells this out, but the kill is all about where the enemy is, not you. You can be lying right on B in Dom, perfectly centred on the flag icon, and still not get credit if the guy you shoot is just sprinting past. For it to tick the camo challenge, the enemy has to be on the point, contesting or holding it. The easiest way to tell you did it right is the HUD. When you drop someone and the little "Assault" medal pops up, that one counts. No medal, no progress, even if it felt like you were fighting for the objective.
Game Modes That Make This Less Painful
To stack objective kills fast, you kinda have to stop playing like the perfect teammate. Modes like Hardpoint and Domination are where you want to live, but you play them in a slightly selfish way. In Hardpoint, let the enemy team grab the hill first. Once they settle in and think they own it, that is when you crash the party and wipe them. Every kill in that zone is way more likely to count. Dom can work too, but it is more inconsistent. If your squad is constantly triple capping, enemies never get to sit on a flag, so your kills end up being regular ones out in the lane instead of on the objective.
How To Play Around Your Team And The Spawns
This sounds a bit toxic, but you sometimes have to let a flag go just to farm the challenge. You see the enemy pushing A or C, and instead of instantly nading them off, you hang back for a second, let that icon flip, then push in while they are capping or defending. You will notice a pattern pretty quick: if you kill people while the point bar is moving or fully controlled by them, you are getting more Assault medals. Try to predict where the next Hardpoint hill is, rotate early, and set up on the edge so you can beam players as they step into the zone, not before they reach it.
Class Setup And Surviving The Push
Because you are diving into areas the enemy already owns, they have headglitches, equipment, sometimes streaks watching the point, so your loadout has to help you punch through that. Go for a gun with quick sprint-to-fire and snappy ADS, even if it costs you a bit of range. You want attachments that help you snap into gunfights after sprinting through a doorway or sliding into a hill. Perks that keep you off intel or let you tank a bit more explosive damage are worth it too. Your K/D or win rate might dip when you play like this, since you are letting them cap more often, but once you get into that rhythm of baiting the point, then clearing it, the objective kills start flying in and you will barely think about the camo challenge anymore, especially if you mix in the occasional buy CoD BO7 Bot Lobby in RSVSR session to keep things relaxed.
